The GBA Board of Directors are excited to announce that Alumni Band Day 2022 will be held on Saturday, September 10th, during the TTU vs Houston football game! This game has already been scheduled for a 3pm kickoff which means our schedule of events will begin early.

Online registration for ABD2022 is now OPEN and will be available until September 1. This post will contain all the details about Alumni Band Day this year, but if you’re in a hurry to register, head on over to our Members’ Portal now!

You must be a current member of the Goin’ Band Association in order to register (either directly with GBA or through the TTAA’s Alumni Network program). Registration will be behind the Members’ Portal and requires an active membership.

This year, the Athletic Ticket Office has created a FEVO page for us to purchase tickets for our non-performing guests (i.e. guest tickets). This page will sell you tickets directly and instantly at our secured group rate of $20/person in the block of seats assigned to the Alumni Band. Only non-performing guests will need to purchase a ticket – all performing members will receive a complimentary ticket on September 10th at ABD.

Once you register for Alumni Band Day, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to this page where you can purchase these tickets. Please do not share this link with anyone as it is specific to your Alumni Band Day registrations.

Friday Night Get-Together

We plan to host our annual Friday Night Get-Together on Saturday 9th as a relaxing way to start off the weekend. Make plans to join us for good food, delicious drinks, and great company.

This come-and-go event is such a fun way to reminisce with old friends and get to know some new ones. There’s no schedule of events so if you can’t be there at the start or have to leave early, there’s no need to worry!

Game Day Activities

We’ll post our schedule of events here as soon as it is solidified. In general, plan to be at Texas Tech University first thing in the morning for our registration packet pickup and the opening of our annual silent auction. We’ll hold our annual meeting of members to introduce you to all the Officers and Board of Directors for the Goin’ Band Association, as well as to fill you in on the happenings of the organization and of the Goin’ Band.

From there, we’ll have a couple short rehearsals to remind everyone what the music sounds like and to learn our halftime show for the year.

Lunch will be provided as a part of your registration for Alumni Band Day 2022 and you will get to eat while watching and listening to the Goin’ Band from Raiderland as they host a pre-game Fan Performance (and dress rehearsal) of their halftime show!

Finally, we’ll block up and march over to the stadium to watch a great football game, cheer on the Red Raiders, play the Fight Song a whole lot after every touchdown, and march our halftime show in front of a stadium-full of screaming and adoring fans.

Texas Tech Football should be very exciting this fall and the Goin’ Band will always be there to cheer everyone on. We can’t wait to have you come join us again this fall for another Alumni reunion back on campus.
